Gin dei Sospiri is a spirit that captures the authentic soul of the Venetian lagoon. Created with the aim of expressing Venice through its raw materials, this gin draws inspiration from the island of Sant'Erasmo, known as the Garden of Venice for the richness of its lands and the quality of its crops.
The Gin dei Sospiri formula is built around glasswort, a wild and protected plant typical of the Venetian salt marshes. It grows immersed in the brackish waters, absorbing their mineral properties and giving the gin a unique savory note. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand and according to seasonality, fully respecting the environment and the plant's organoleptic characteristics.
Alongside glasswort, the aromatic profile is complemented by a selection of native botanicals: juniper, lemon thyme, basil, milk thistle, and castraura, the prized Sant'Erasmo purple artichoke. Each of these essences contributes to creating a balanced, fresh, and nuanced distillate.
Crystal-clear to the eye, Gin dei Sospiri opens on the nose with elegant Mediterranean notes of juniper, enriched with green, herbaceous aromas typical of the lagoon landscape. On the palate, salicornia dominates with a distinctive savory character, followed by an enveloping smoothness and a velvety finish.
