Colonnata Lard PGI 500g

Lard aged in marble basins for at least six months with a blend of coarse salt and spices such as black pepper, cinnamon, Italian garlic, and local rosemary. It is at least 5 cm thick, with rind on the bottom and a top layer of curing salt, aromatic herbs, and spices. When cut, it is moist, with a soft, even texture, white in color, slightly pink, and sometimes with a streak of lean meat. Its flavor is highly fragrant, and it is extremely melt-in-your-mouth, delicate, and has a pleasantly savory finish.

Aged for at least six months, it tastes sublime when sliced thinly and placed on warm bread. It's important to trim the rind before slicing.
